Oral Chants of the Mediterranean

Faux-Bourdon, Improvisation et Contrepoint mental (FABRICA) (2009-2011)

The FABRICA project concerns methodical and systematic research into the polyphonic practices of religion songs in western Europe, from the appearance of the first songs written in books in the 15th century to the last oral testimonies of the tradition in the mid-20th century. This project is of interest as a whole for the ways in which the improvised polyphonies are created and transmitted and it also includes repertories and interpretations outside the chronological and geographical boundaries of the field of activity.
